Two full-on weeks of Music
I had an amazing past two weeks with many performances throughout Auckland!
-North Shore Performing Arts Competition-
I was awarded 1st place in both the Sonata Class and the Recital Class i enetered.
Northshore Performing Arts Competition was the first competition i entered when i was in intermediate and its has been 7 years since i last entered. It was an amazing performance opportunity and to have received the trophy with my teachers name in the 'past winners' list was a plus.
-Graduation Gala Concerto Competition 2014-
My first performance at the Auckland Town Hall, Performing the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.3 with the Univeristy of Auckland Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Uwe Grodd. I came 3rd in the finals, it was an amazing journey since the audition back in march. Many audiences came to approach me after the performance and have had many positive feedbacks. It was a great honor and will always remember this performance.
-Lewis Eady Emerging Artist Concert Series-
A day after the Graduation Gala Competition, i had a full 90 minutes recital at the Lewis Eady Piano Showcase Room. Halfway through the Beethoven Piano Sonata, there was a drum playing sound from upstairs that made the concert have a break for 5 minutes until the next Bartok Piano Sonata. But overall, it was a great performance opportunity and to have had the experience to play the concerto and a full recital in consecutive days were a extreme challenge and i learnt many things from this journey of music making.
