Great weekend full of music brought by the Pettman National Academy of Music.

The Akato Trio performed Beethoven's Piano Trio Op.1 No.1 in a public Masterclass with pianist Caroline Almonte. Recieved great feedbacks and gave us another new dimension to the piece.

Kent also performed in a concert featuring soloist Joo Eun Kim, a young upcoming cellist with her recital in the University of Auckland Music Theatre. Kent Accompanied her with pieces by composers such as Stravinsky, Paganini and Franck. This exciting collaboration with tJoo Eun Kim will be happening more later in the year!

We also observed the concert by the Sutherland Trio featuring our tutor Edith Salzmann (Cellist), Caroline Almonte (Piano), Elizabeth Sellars (Violin) and Stephen Larsen (Viola) They performed the famous "Ghost" Trio by Beethoven and a masterpiece by Brahms, his Piano Quartet in C minor. Another inspirational concert which can be brought to our performances of Beethoven and Brahms!

We will be seeing Edith and Caroline again at next year's

Akaroa International Music Festival 2015 so it was great to meet Caroline in advance!
