International Premier - Y.Akutagawa, Ballate for Violin and Piano
I am very excited to announce that we will be performing the Oceania Premier of 'Ballade for Violin and Piano' (1951) by world renowned Japanese Composer - Yasushi Akutagawa.
The son of the great Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Yasushi Akutagawa is known in Japan for his unique and powerful sound world, quite different in that of Toru Takemitsu. It blends characteristics of traditional Japanese music and the music of the soviet union. His most famous works includes Trinita Sinfonica, TRIPTYQUE for String Orchestra, Musica per Orchestra Sinfonica, (Works in which the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra have performed in the past) and works for films such as 'Yatsuhaka-mura', 'Jigokumon' and 'Nobi'. He was also the first Japanese composer to have had works published in the soviet union.
The Isomura Brothers will be premiering this hidden masterpiece at the 'Japan' Concert held this year in Auckland, New Zealand. Again this will be a Oceania region Premier of the work and quite possibly the international premier at large, being played outside Japan for the first time! so please stay updated with us and don't miss out in this opportunity to hear this amazing piece! I will be updating this website as often as every 1 or 2 days :)
