June so far

June so far has been a busy time preparing for the Tsunami violin concert but also been involved in few other things at the University.
June 3rd, Had a full day of playing for young Clarinetist at the inaugural University of Auckland Clarinet Day produced by Dr. Marie Ross. The event was a huge success and the day concluded with a recital which i collaborated with Frank Celata (Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and Dr. Marie Ross in number of pieces including the Debussy Premiere Rhapsodie and the exciting Mendelssohn Concert Piece No.1 for Two Clarinets and Piano!
June 9th, Performed with School of Music Students for their Michael Hill International Violin Competition Masterclass with the amazing Pamela Frank! As a pianist i was equally inspired by her knowledge and musicality. Its great to be involved every two years with these masterclasses for the students .
In July, i will be in Nelson to be involved with the Nelson Composers Workshop and work with Professional Composers (John Psathas, Michael Norris etc.) to support the works of student composers and have their pieces performed by Professional Musicians.
After returning from Nelson, the following week will be our second leg of our tsunami violin promotion tour and also an interview with E-cube magazine!
